| Pretty much similar to the US, the only difference would be that the health-care is government controlled, rather than private, but even that's going to change soon. | |

| Canada is far from socialism and far from capitalism. Democratic Socialism is a system in which you could elect a party such as the Communist Party. In Canada, much things are privatized and taxes are simply higher -- I could describe it as a "leftist", welfare capitalism.
Its system is interesting, with the liberal party, new democratic party, green party, conservative party, etc all having seats in the house.

lmao Same. Well... I actually was discussing whether or not I should move to Canada (not even because of the more "liberal" ideology, but because their government "grants" more freedom of speech) with my mother and she said I could get to know it for about two weeks while on vacation there. Canada is not what most envision as "socialist" -- they are not reaching communism anytime soon with the way their pseudo-capitalistic system is set up. Culture: The people are much like the Divided State of Amerika's people.. Hmm, that's weird, I thought borders divided people for a reason. What I'm saying is that they're exactly like Amerikans but are more politically aware, intelligent, -- therefore, there are a lot of cultural anarchists, especially because of the Native "problem" they have. Government: The government in Canada is obviously different and more moderate than the ultra conservative one we have in the US. Some preach what I believe in (equality, liberty) which is good, yet none of them (in government) truly change much. For example, they have a lot more Native People (First Nation People, an incorrect term) that are seen as a "problem" that needs to be dealt with among the government. The only real aid that is going to the Nican Tlaca movement (one of the correct terms) over there (which is where the black civil rights movement was in the 30's over here) is coming from grassroots organizations like the anarchist Under The Volcano organization and others. I love how the government is set up so it's not winner-take-all like over here -- at least SOME opinion is heard, where the Green Party has a few seats in the house, where the liberal party dominates, followed by the New Democratic Party and finally the conservatives, a minority party that votes much like our "LIBERAL, COMMIE, RADICAL, ETC. ETC." Democratic Party. All in all, it's like the US with healthcare (for the majority/white people), a MORE (but obviously not entirely) consensus/representative (living in the US, I never thought I'd put those two types together)-based government and a lot more native people suffering.
